It is reported that the next step of the traffic police department is to pilot the application of the electronic vehicle ID card in eight types of vehicles, including coach, school bus, two types of mud head vehicle, taxi and bus. "There is an electronic chip in the electronic tag, which does not have GPS positioning function, so it does not involve privacy issues." The person in charge explained that only vehicle attribute information is stored in the electronic license plate, and other information of the owner is not stored. Using security encryption, non public security system equipment can not be identified.

At present, electronic vehicle license has been applied in Chongqing, Xiamen, Wuhan and Nanjing. For example, Chongqing has extended electronic vehicle license to all vehicles.
